LOS ANGELES — Keith Houlemard is now the star player at Nike Inc.’s Jordan brand.
The company announced Wednesday that Houlemard has been named president of the Jordan label, replacing Garry Cook. Houlemard, formerly the apparel director for the Jordan brand, U.S. sales director and U.S. footwear director, has served at Nike for 19 years and will now oversee all aspects of the label’s growth.
“Keith brings strong brand experience and a deep understanding of the basketball consumer,” Nike President Charlie Denson said in a press release. “The Jordan brand is strong and has tremendous global potential. We look forward to his leadership as we continue to grow the Jordan brand and connect with consumers worldwide.”
For his part, Michael Jordan applauded the appointment. “Keith has solid experience and a keen understanding of the consumer market,” Jordan said in the statement. “As the Jordan brand enters a new era, we welcome his return and look forward to his leadership.
